Post-operative
Special features
In most operations, the main risk is infection.
One of the most common indications is to avoid showering for one to two weeks if you don't have a reliable, watertight protection or dressing.
Protocol
There is a need to follow a care protocol to monitor, clean and disinfect the wound on a regular basis.
The wound or scar is usually covered by a primary dressing at the very least, with a secondary dressing regularly added to complete the protection.
The treatment is carried out regularly, at intervals of one to several days. During this period, unsafe showers are prohibited.
Secuderm benefits
- Enables immediate showering and bathing during the post-operative period, back at home (daily hygiene and balneotherapy).
- Frees up the patient: shower, bath, balneotherapy, sports (sweating), movement, sauna... post-operative care is safe.
- Protects the primary post-operative dressing without modifying the care protocol.
- Secuderm forms a barrier to bacteria.
- Secuderm secures healing in the best possible conditions.
- The area is protected and Secuderm benefits from an independent retreat. Between showers or baths, for example.
- Secuderm protection secures and holds the primary dressing in place over time:
- Avoiding early detachment, potentially allowing more frequent dressing changes and savings on primary dressings not re-done.
- Does not cause maceration. With very high breathability, Secuderm is one of the 2 most breathable dressings on the market.
- For long-term care, you can change the gel adhesion zone at each dressing change. This minimizes the risk of irritation or associated allergies, by avoiding repetition and continuous adhesion over several days.
The different cases :
- Can be used for any type of operation, on any part of the body (excluding mucous membranes).
- The Secuderm concept makes care safer and frees the patient: perfectly waterproof and breathable protection, easy to apply and remove, which adapts to the area to be protected, even in difficult places (folds...)...and frees up hygiene, sports and leisure activities!
Catheters
Special features
Central lines, hemodialysis dialysis, intensive care, oncology.
- Skin volume due to catheter shape
- Sizing complexity in the catheter tube passage area
- Susceptibility to infection
50% of patients with catheters find showering risky, and 33% both risky and complicated.
Secuderm benefits
Holds and protects all types of catheter.
Antibacterial protection of peripheral and central catheter DM for greater safety.
The area is protected and the dressing can be removed independently.
Safe bathing and showering!
Bringing the joy of bathing and showering back to people who need reliable, appropriate waterproof protection: the only bath and shower solution.
Ear protection
Special features
Reliable ear protection is a complex matter. Not least because of the shape of the ear and the small surface area available for gluing.
It is often necessary for "summer" or more chronic ear infections. In such cases, "yoyo" or "diabolo" devices, i.e. transtympanic aerators, are sometimes fitted. This is one of the most common treatments for children with recurrent ear infections.
These drains allow permanent aeration of the tympanic cavity and prevent recurrence of ear infections.
It is strongly recommended not to swim when you have yo-yos. The water could cause inflammation or infection.
No water in the ears, no swimming, no drops.
Protocol
It's imperative to protect the yoyo through the orofice of the ear.
For summertime otitis, a liquid treatment called "drops" is prescribed.
The protocol associated with both cases generally involves avoiding water ingress as far as possible.
Secuderm benefits
Secuderm is the only device that can be used universally, whatever the shape of the ear:
- Children and people who need to protect their ears: put your head under water. Swimming, bathing and...
- To hear while being discreetly protected!
- Reassure parents about daily hygiene (shampoo, shower...)
- Free children from silicone headbands and plugs, and allow them to do what other children do, i.e. take part in the sport of swimming at school.
Chronic wounds: diabetic wounds
Special features
Plantar perforation presents as a small crater emerging in the center of an area of hyperkeratosis on the skin that has no tendency to heal. It may begin as a simple blister or crack.
These are chronic wounds that can occur mainly on the lower limbs, particularly the feet. The perforating injury most often appears on the sole of the foot (plantar perforating injury), but the same mechanism can occur in other areas of the foot where there is excessive pressure or friction.
The wound often takes a long time to heal.
Care is localized on areas that are difficult to care for, sometimes very difficult.
Protocol
Treatment and care are tailored to the pathology and its degree of severity.
In almost all protocols, a dressing or cream is applied.
Secuderm benefits
Secuderm's waterproof overprotection secures the treatment.
The excellent hold of Secuderm waterproof protection benefits the most difficult locations: feet, joints, intersection of fingers & toes, palms, heels.
Maintaining care dressings over several days: easier healing thanks to secure care.
A reliable barrier to bacteria.
No chronic gluing in successive applications: the line of adhesive gel can be moved with each application.
Chronic wounds: abscesses | bedsores | ulcers
Special features
Abscesses, bedsores and ulcers are chronic wounds.
An ulcer is a wound in the skin, eyes or mucous membrane, accompanied by disintegration of the tissue.
An abscess is a local accumulation of pus after necrosis in a neoformed cavity.
Pressure sores are a complication of bed rest and prolonged immobilization.
The lack of oxygen linked to tissue compression leads to tissue necrosis.
Extrinsic factors are linked to the material and personal environment: prolonged compression on the same support points, shearing, friction or rubbing.
Some of these chronic wounds are difficult to protect due to their location: sacrum, in particular sacral pressure sores, ischium and heels.
Protocol
Treatment and care are tailored to the pathology and its degree of severity.
In almost all protocols, a dressing or cream is applied.
Wound healing must always take place in a moist, closed environment. Respect the wound ecosystem.
Secuderm benefits
Secuderm's waterproof overprotection secures the treatment.
The excellent hold of Secuderm waterproof protection benefits the most difficult areas concerned: sacrum, for sacral pressure sores, ischium and heels in particular
Long-lasting hold: stains, feces, urine, perspiration.
Maintaining care dressings and hydrocolloids over several days: healing is facilitated by secure care.
Avoids the need to reapply dressings, sometimes several times a day.
A reliable barrier to bacteria.
No chronic gluing in successive applications: the line of adhesive gel can be moved with each application. This limits the risk of reaction.
For daily hygiene (showering, bathing), leisure activities including swimming, sports...in complete serenity.
Highly breathable, Secuderm breathable waterproof protection prevents maceration.
Tattoos
Special features
Since tattooing involves perforating the skin to introduce coloring agents, each small perforation creates a wound that can become infected and transmit disease via bacteria or viruses.
For all these reasons, essential hygiene rules must be observed before, during and after any tattooing.
Tattoos can also be very large.
Protocol
Once the procedure is complete, the tattooist disinfects the area with an antiseptic solution and applies healing ointment or cream, and a bandage or cellophane to protect the epidermis and promote healing.
The skin must remain clean at all times, and oily during the healing phase, which lasts around two weeks.
Care must be taken not to allow any infectious agent to come into contact with the wound. Cleaning should be carried out using lukewarm water and mild soap or an alcohol-free antiseptic solution. Once the tattooed area is clean, apply a suitable healing ointment.
Bathing, swimming or swimming in the sea should be avoided for 2 to 3 weeks, unless you use Secuderm, which seals the tattoo area perfectly.
Secuderm benefits
- Secures healing to improve results.
- Suitable for very large surfaces: back, arms, calves
- Made to measure, without glue.
- Protection of skin care creams following tattooing (allows the cream to penetrate without spreading or absorbing).
- Bacteria barrier for added safety.
- Protects against dust.
- Prevents staining clothes.
Dermabrasions | Burns | Scratches
Special features
They are often the result of accidents in the home (falls, ....) or during sporting activities.
Variable size.
Knees, ischium, buttocks are frequent sites...
Protocol
Once cleaned, it is advisable to :
- apply an appropriate healing cream
- maintain healing in a moist environment to avoid crusting.
Secuderm benefits
Protects the treatment so you can "forget" about its healing, long-lasting hold, showers... a life that goes on without constraints.
- Prevents tingling in the shower
- Prevents its protection from delaminating
- Facilitates healing
- Adapts to all hard-to-reach areas
- Allows you to dress while applying cream
- 100% freedom!
Dermatitis (Gel cream)
Special features
Atopic dermatitis | Contact dermatitis | Psoriatic plaque
Dermatitis is a skin disease. They can have multiple causes.
Contact dermatitis is a localized rash or skin irritation caused by contact with a foreign substance.
Inflammation of the affected tissues is limited to the epidermis (superficial layer of the skin) and the upper layer of the dermis (beneath the epidermis).
It is characterized by swollen skin, with red patches and spots, and papules (small red pimples), giving the skin a granular appearance.
Protocol
Medical treatment generally consists of lotions, creams or oral medications.
Secuderm benefits
Unique protective cream-gel dressing without sizing.
Protects the cream without spreading or absorbing it, while allowing the affected area to breathe.
- Prevents bacterial superinfections caused by scratching.
- Adapts to all difficult areas: elbows, knees, fingers, hands, toes...
- For showers and baths.
- Allows you to apply cream and dress during the day, without dirtying your clothes.
- Makes everyday life easier for children and parents.
Pilonidal cyst (sacrococcygeal)
Special features
The cyst or pilonidal sinus or sacro-coccygeal cyst is a cyst most often located in the interfessial groove, in the form of a cavity forming a subcutaneous pocket that may eventually become infected and drain through a channel in the skin.
In most cases, the recommended treatment is surgical excision of the cyst.
The healing phase can then be quite long (6 to 8 weeks) and delicate due to the particularity of this area:
- Difficult area, fold
- Sweating, maceration
During this period, the patient is not allowed to immerse the area, or his care, in water.
Protocol
In terms of care, the wound needs to be cleaned and meticulously dressed once or twice a day, using absorbent dressings to help remove fibrin, exudates and remnants of necrotic tissue.
A primary dressing is then applied to protect the area.
Secuderm benefits
Secuderm waterproof overprotection protects wounds and reduces the risk of external contamination, while allowing tissues to breathe, thus promoting healing.
Perfect hold of Secuderm waterproof protection in the most difficult locations: buttock groove, anal margin.
Resists perspiration, movement and rubbing of clothing.
The only solution for showers and baths.
Patch
Special features
There are several types of patch: anti-tobacco, nicotine (anti-tobacco)...
Their action is expected to last over time, while maintaining direct skin contact.
Protocol
Often, the patch itself is the protocol.
It is important that it is well positioned and remains in place for the specified time.
Secuderm benefits
Secuderm makes bathing, swimming and showering safe!
Protects and holds: Prevents premature detachment of the patch.
Piercings & Microdermal implants
Special features
Since piercing or microdermal implants involve perforating the skin to introduce external bodies, the wound is highly susceptible to infection, and the external body is likely to transmit disease via bacteria or viruses.
Protocol
Once the operation has been completed, it is necessary to :
- Disinfect the affected area with an antiseptic solution.
- Apply healing ointment or cream and a bandage or cellophane to protect the epidermis and promote healing.
- The skin must remain clean at all times, and oily during the healing phase, which lasts around two weeks.
Care must be taken not to allow any infectious agent to come into contact with the wound. Cleaning should be carried out using lukewarm water and mild soap, or an alcohol-free antiseptic solution.
Bathing, swimming or swimming in the sea should be avoided for 2 to 3 weeks, unless you are using Secuderm, which seals the pierced area perfectly.
Secuderm benefits
- Protective pad for navel piercings.
- Protects microdermal implant care dressings.
- Made to measure, without glue.
- Secures healing to improve results.
- Bacteria barrier for added safety.
- Protects against dust.
- Prevents staining clothes.
