Secuderm® innovates with a non-sticky protective film combined with an independent adhesive gel. The combination adapts precisely to the need for protection.
Secuderm® has been designed to adapt perfectly to the skin’s profile, and is today the most effective barrier in waterproof protection, as the gel moulds perfectly to the area to be covered, “plugging” irregularities due to the epidermal profile.
The liquid gel + film combination provides a 100% waterproof barrier.
This unique concept and unprecedented performance reveal a genuine new skincare tool.
The material pairing was developed in collaboration with the Marseille Faculty of Pharmacy, which provided a framework for the choice of components.
Secuderm® has been tested and validated at -60 meters by French Navy divers.
A technical protective film with exceptional properties
Secuderm® kits consist of a sheet of cuttable polyurethane film, and one or more tubes of adhesive gel (depending on size) for cutaneous application, based on hypoallergenic silicone (anti-allergenic) and ethyl acetate (a component which prevents the gel from hardening, is highly volatile and has an odor found in acetone-free remover). The adhesive gel is dermatologically approved and respects even the most sensitive skin.
The mechanical properties of polyurethane mean that the protective film provides a perfect seal in one direction, while allowing gases to pass through in the other. Polyurethane was selected for its breathability.
Another advantage of the concept is that the protective film is never glued to the area to be protected (it just sticks to the gel mesh, which means there’s no adhesive barrier and maximum breathability).
Thanks to Secuderm’s innovative film technology, which is not completely glued to the skin, you create a non-adherent cell in the protected area, allowing the skin to breathe more easily and avoiding the risk of infection associated with maceration.
Voted among the most breathable skin protectors (study on the breathability of different skin protectors, 2016, SIDVL, Professor Lurton, CHU Rennes, France).
Flexible & adaptable protective film
Extremely flexible, stretchable and modular, polyurethane protective film has the particularity of adapting to all locations, even the most difficult areas to protect due to their profile(ear, between the toes, hand, buttock crease…). Its characteristics also enable it to cover “bulky” devices such as catheters.
The application protocol is fairly straightforward, since Secuderm protection can be cut to size and shape to suit the area to be protected. As the gel tube is separate, it can be applied around any contour. It’s this great flexibility and adaptability that makes Secuderm a unique, innovative and ultra-effective technology.
The product has been tested and approved by French military doctors for use in combat in the case of wounds in areas that are difficult to protect due to their shape (popliteal fossa, ankles).
Secuderm waterproof protection has also been approved by commando doctors in French Guiana (a humid tropical climate that induces profuse sweating).
Modular, breathable and adaptable skin overprotection, it provides a watertight seal and reliable dressing hold over time.
Breathable, cuttable and flexible up to 2 times its size, the protection kit is available in rolls according to need.
